The history of Universiteit van Amsterdam (UvA) started in 17th century and it is now, with 27,000 students and 4,000 staff, one of the biggest and largest comprehensive universities of Europe. University represents a community of seven faculties, that conduct education and research research in the humanities, social and behavioural sciences, economics and business, law, science, medicine and dentistry. The University offers a wide international programme with more than 85 Master programmes in English.
